As many of you know, in April 2021, Chris was in a very serious accident that has left him with catastrophic injuries. Since then, he has survived several complex surgeries and has been working long and hard on his recovery, often in hospital conditions offering limited services and visitation due to COVID restrictions and staffing shortages. While Chris has made remarkable progress and shown incredible determination in his recovery so far, he still has a long way to go. Chris and his family are doing all they can to recover from this tragic event, and they need our help.

Chris requires ongoing, long-term, high-quality rehab and medical support to reach his goal of overcoming his multiple injuries. These challenging injuries include the inability to bend his left elbow or to use his left hand properly, double vision, a surgical lesion in his throat, difficulty swallowing water and food, and most significantly, the inability to walk.

The kind of ongoing physical rehabilitation he needs is expensive and would put an impossible financial strain on anyone trying to fund it alone. For example, a private, in-patient rehabilitation facility, which is not covered by insurance, can cost approximately £8,000 - £10,000 per week (approx. US $10,800 – $13,500 per week). It is impossible to know how long this rehab will take and Chris deserves the best chance we can give him. Additionally, before Chris can return home, significant adaptions may need to be made to his home to make it accessible for him, he may need mobility equipment, and there will likely be other expenses we can’t foresee at this point.

We know that his loving friends and family will want him to reach his recovery goals as best he can. Chris has been there for all of us over the years through his love and friendship, his work as a chiropractor, and as a talented guitar player who got us all up to dance. Chris and his family will deeply appreciate anything any of you can do to support him in his recovery.
