Please help Bury our Dad /Sister
My Family have lost two Heros in our Lives. our Father and our Youngest Sister. we would love to give them a wonderful going away Funeral. my Family Pray that anyone that can help please help. I live in okc ok with my family and have no way to get to Niles Mich to Bury my Loved ones. I spoke to the Police they said they still need to do more tests on their bodies. to find out how they died. other then that that's all I know of. NILES, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating the deaths of a man and adult daughter in Niles after finding their bodies inside the man’s home.
A concerned neighbor called police after not seeing his neighbors for a while and a large amount of snow built up on the cars in the driveway. Officers went to a residence in the 600 block of Woodruff Street in Niles around 5:42 p.m. Wednesday.
When officers arrived at the home, they saw the 81-year-old male resident lying on a couch but didn’t see his chest rising and assumed he was deceased.
Upon entry, officers found Albert Bivins and his daughter, 55-year-old Patricia Bivins, deceased in the home. Officers also discovered the temperature inside the home was below 32 degrees despite functioning gas and electric services.
An autopsy was performed on the victims, which was unable to determine the cause and time of death at the time. Police said they will be notified of lab results within two weeks, which will narrow the cause of death.
Police said there is no suspicion of foul play and the cause of death for both victims was not violent in any way.
An Oklahoma City man said his father and sister were found deceased in their home in the 600 block of Woodruff Wednesday afternoon.
Timmothy Bivins said he found out his father, Albert Bivins, 81, and sister, Patricia Bivins, 55, died after a phone call from his fiancé.
“She told me that my dad and my sister died,” Bivins said. “It just hit me like a pound of bricks.”
He said he was just reconnecting with his father and sister. He added that he planned on visiting their home on Woodruff Street this year.
“This is just something I didn’t expect,” he said.
A concerned neighbor called police after seeing the amount of snow built up on the car in the driveway.
An officer went to the door but no one answered.
When the officer looked inside, an elderly man was spotted lying on the couch but did not appear to be breathing.
Officers from Niles Police and Niles firefighters broke a window to gain access to the home.
The temperature in the home was below 32 degrees. Police said there was gas and electric to the home.
Bivins said his sister had special needs and his father had dementia, but does not believe their conditions had anything to do with their deaths.
“To have this happen to my sister and my dad, a couple of days after the new year, it’s not easy,” Bivins said.
He said now he just needs love and support to help send home who he calls two of his angels.
“Remember you’re only on this earth for a minute by dust in the wind,” Bivins said. “Tell someone you love them and that Wednesday is when my dad and my sister died, I love you.”
