PLEASE HELP BRING GORDIE HOME

Donation protected
Hi everyone. I'm setting this page up to help my sister bring her husband home. Please know that it is as difficult for me as it is for my sister to ask for help.

Gordie, as our family fondly calls him, had a major stroke while visiting Australia with my sister to attend their daughter's graduation, a supposedly joyful milestone event for a family barely getting by in the Philippines.
Gordie's condition worsened after a couple of days and required a surgery to ease the pressure on his brain, followed by intensive hospital care here in Australia. Thanks to the ambulance team's quick response and the doctors, nurses and other hospital staff who are taking good care of him, his condition is now stable. Consequently, he is bedridden at the moment, unable to speak and move his right side, and therefore, must undergo intense speech and physical therapy.

Gordie is not giving up, his willpower to live is strong. On several occasions, the doctors have given us little hope that he'll survive but he will, all of a sudden wake up and wave at us weakly, as if to let us know that he's not giving up.

Gordie was a hard-working man and a loving husband to my sister and loving father to my niece. My sister had been through enough challenges, having to care for our bedridden mother (now deceased) for several years and having to care for Gordie.

We were told that Gordie, depending on his CT scan results / hospital's  clearance and airline's acceptance, can be repatriated back to Philippines as early as next week and continue his rehabilitation and recovery in a hospital there. Considering his current hospital bill estimate of $121,000, which is increasing considerably the longer he stays in the hospital in Australia, his family is eager to take him home. He will be needing special transport to and from airports, care while in-flight and will probably be required to be in a special bed/seat.

It is in this regard that we are appealing for everyone's help. We urgently need to raise $20,000 to cover the upfront repatriation costs, that's way beyond what the family can afford. Please, please help us bring Gordie home.

Anything you can contribute will be deeply appreciated and would be helpful to the family.
