<div>Hi my name is Barry,I am 36 years old and live in the uk,for the past 2 years,i have been suffering with severe chronic pelvic pain that came on unexpectedly - and i’ve spent lots of my time and all my savings trying to seek help and find a diagnosis.

<div>This pain started with sharp stabbing feelings in my pelvic floor leg and foot which then evolved into severe constant pain and burning sensations. i went to the GP, they suggested prostatitis all medication proved ineffective,then 6 months later i seen a urologist who said i did not have prostatitis but colorectal issues .

<div>After seeing a colorectal surgeon my case was then assessed as a neurological issue, leading to referrals to a neurologist who said there is nothing we can do but give you pills to take for pain but nothing worked i can't sleep for long periods or sit down my pains had ruined everything.

<div>i went back to gp and was referred to a pain clinic. I had many various treatments such as epidural injections and nerve blocks multiple medications and physiotherapy which have all been attempted without success. My pain remains persistent and worsening significantly which then impacts my life and i cant get comfortable.
</div>
<div>Upon waking, i experience a gradual increase of discomfort which leads to severe sweating and pain that gets worse as the day goes on . The best way i could describe the sensation is burning, pulling, heaviness and an unpleasant feeling . I also experience tingling in my right leg and foot all day , however the foot tingling is now painful and is now more intense and constant affecting my ability to walk.

<div>I experience urging discomfort and pain which affects my cognitive function. The pain became so severe it led to me quitting my job as a chef, which was what i loved doing most.

<div>I had been passed from pillar to post by doctors in the uk with no help until I finally joined a PN group to then get in touch with Dr Bollens in Belgium and i luckily had a 30 minute zoom call with him to then discover he belived that my piriformus muscle is trapping the nerves which is setting off my pudendal nerve and sciatic nerve. The goal of this treatment is to release the pudendal nerve from being entrapped or squashed .

<div>Dr Bollens was 95% sure chronical contraction of the periformus muscle is to blame . This muscle allows extra rotation of the foot. My pelvis is currently unbalanced. I have tried all treatments with no results so belive surgery is now my only option

<div>I had discussions about modifying equine foot position with specialised shoes and the importance of stretching my piriformus muscle. Although physiotherapy may help release tension, it has been ineffective due to the contracted muscles sending false signals. I also got told that neurological stimulation and stretching exercises are beneficial to me but nothing has changed i feel worse as each month passes so does my will to carry on

<div>Throughout the 2 years, i have tried many different medications as well as nerve medications. I also tried acupuncture and electric acupuncture which failed just like everything else. I’ve had many MRIs which have all shown nothing significant. It has been so hard to push through with this chronic pain as it totally affects my quality of life and also affects my mental health massively, there has been so many times i just wanted to give up this battle i mean I haven't been comfortable for 2 full years .

<div>Everyone’s help will all contribute to the cost of my treatment, this is why i am pleading for your support. The treatment is a large amount of money as well as costs to travel there and be able to stay there a week as that’s what this requires.

<div>Everyone’s support means everything to me. It will help me feel recognised and let people understand this is real. This chronic pain is not just in my head. Surviving this long without just giving up has taken everything i have and more. This pain has been so devastating however i have continued to push and speak to hundreds of different people attempting to find the right place and person to help me .
