I have come to a last resort effort to keep from having to surrender my car to my financial institution.

I had been experiencing a check engine light issue on my car. I’ve been monitoring it for quite a while, and finally got an automotive repair contract to cover in case time came to repair it. On Saturday 2/8, I was on my way home from work when all of a sudden my car went into “limp mode”. I called for a tow and got myself home. I called the repair shop where I had the car towed — $5000 worth of repair work. I gave the garage the warranty info, to find out that NONE of my repairs are covered under my warranty. It appears I was sold the wrong warranty coverage from what was quoted to me!

I have toyed around with the idea of either trading it in, or refinancing for the repairs. Both of which I do not qualify for as I found out yesterday at the bank. They basically told me to fund the repairs myself or surrender my car. I was not happy to say the least.

I absolutely hate asking for help like this because times are hard for everyone right now, but every little bit does help. I fully intend on paying everybody back for whatever help is provided (if any), as it would be greatly appreciated. For those willing to help, but don’t necessarily trust these kind of things, I have other options available that we can discuss.
