For the second time in just a little over a year, my 25-year-old son, Levi Jack, has been diagnosed with cancer. What started out as Testicular Cancer in 2023 has now morphed into Metastatic Peritoneal Cancer. Levi went to the emergency department earlier in the week with what we thought were the symptoms of a simple kidney stone. Within a few hours he was shown clear images of an apple-sized malignant mass which is compromising the function of his right kidney and pancreas and received a definitive diagnosis of cancer, something he thought he would never have to battle again. Tomorrow morning his port will be placed, and within the week he will start aggressive chemotherapy which will continue over the next three or more months to shrink his tumor for surgical removal.

As Levi’s mom, I am employing every means I can possibly think of to help my son with his living and medical expenses over the next several months as he undergoes cancer treatments. He is employed as a full-time production supervisor at his workplace but will have to take several months off of work due to the nature of his growing mass and extent of his projected treatments. My goal is to generate what Levi will need to cover any travel expenses while treatment is underway, to fund any life-saving medications and medical expenses not covered under his insurance plan, and to provide a financial cushion for any unforeseen emergency expenses that may arise during the time that Levi is hospitalized or off work.

Levi is a humble, hard-working human who strives to help others and does not easily accept the help of anyone. He lives a very quiet, simple life and is well-loved by everyone who knows him. People often compliment his selfless acts of kindness and his empathy and compassion for everyone he meets. He quietly gives to others behind the scenes and always helps in his community without expectation of anything in return from anyone. However I am asking for help for this exceptional son of mine in his greatest time of need.
