Last night, my friend and I found this poor guy out while out walking our dogs. After taking our dogs back to the house, we came back to look for him...he was able to run about 10 yards from us before he collapsed. Once we got closer to him, we knew he needed help immediately. We gave him some water and carried him to the jeep so we could get him somewhere safe.

This baby is SEVERELY malnourished. He is just a baby, probably around 2. He is now flat-footed, thanks to a (short) lifetime of malnutrition. This morning I took him straight to the vet where it was determined he needed immediate hospitalization and a blood transfusion due to severe anemia, dehydration, and malnourishment.

He tested positive for hookworms and whipworms, negative for heartworm, roundworm, Ehrlichia, Lyme, and Anaplasma. They ran a few other tests and determined he is mostly like suffering most hookworm anemia and malnourishment.

I cannot justify ending his life because his required treatment is expensive. I've attached a picture of his vet estimate.
