Play Equipment for Sunnyside

Help the Children in our Community experience fun outdoors.
The photo above is of the current playground the children who attend programs at Sunnyside Kindergarten Center have to play on.
Sunnyside Kindergarten Center houses three different Preschool Programs: Huron Head Start (3 and 4 year olds), Huron Great Start Readiness Program (4 year olds) and YWCA Huron Kids Zone (3 and 4 year olds). Additionally the YWCA Preschool Before & After School Program (3 and 4 year olds), the Huron District (school age 5 to 13 year old) Before & After School Program and the YWCA Summer Care Program use this facility.
Due to unsafe play conditions the playground was stripped of all play equipment and what remains is an empty field for the youth in our community to play. In past I have witnessed children from families involved in the Huron Little League and the Huron Jr. Chiefs Football League play on this equipment while enjoying another child participating in a sport. I have a child currently enrolled in the YWCA preschool program and I have another enrolling in the fall. These children deserve some equipment to play on, as do the other children who attend programs at this facility.
In a 2015 Article title, What are the Benefits of Installing Children’s Playground Equipment? By Susan Lundman, playgrounds were described as “vital” to a child’s emotional, physical, cognitive and social development.
Please consider making a donation to restore the playground equipment so the children who attend programs at Sunnyside as well as other children in the community are able to enjoy the outdoors. No donation is too small. Please share with anyone you know in the area as well as family and friends. All proceeds will go directly towards the purchase of playground equipment for Sunnyside.
