Place Family lost everything, in Malden wildfire.

On Monday, September 7th, 2020 the Place Family lost their home,  along with everything they own and cherish to a wildfire,  in their home town of  Malden, Washington. The wildfire destroyed the whole town and community. Thankfully, they were able to evacuate, and no one was injured. They were able to save most of their pets, but their cat is missing. Their home was gifted to them from a family member, and they have been working hard at restoring it, and adding on. Unfortunately, insurnace was not a option. The place family will have to recover from this 100% on their own.  They lost everything, including vehicles, all their clothing, all of their memories, and their most cherished items. Vanessa Place, was the towns librarian, volunteered at the community pantry, and was a huge part of the community. When the fire was approaching, Vanessa ran to neighbors houses, and helped them get out, before trying to get anything out of her home. As many of you know the Place family is a family that would do anything for anyone.  They have taken others into their home, always willing to help anyone in need, have volunteered in their schools, volunteered within their community, etc.  They are the ones that take care of everyone else. Now we need everyone to take care of them, during this hard time. Victims of fires face tremendous emotional stress and financial costs and we hope to alleviate some of the stress that they will face as they begin to rebuild.
