Support for the Thompson Family

Donation protected

With the sudden passing of Tishauna Thompson Robertson our hearts are aching for her family and friends.

At the young age of 28-years-old the beautiful Tishauna left us to be reunited with her father and sister up above. For 15 long years she fought a tough fight. In 2003 she was diagnosed with kidney disease and in 2012 she started dialysis. She did both hemodialysis as well as peritoneal dialysis but was getting recurrent abdominal infections. In 2014 her mother Tracey did what any loving mother would do and donated her kidney to her daughter. Thinking the worst was behind them, they began to prepare for discharge home. On the day she was to be discharged, Tishauna contracted C-difficile, a “super bug”, for which the treatment caused her to lose her newly received kidney. The kidney lasted until August 2015 and she had to go back on hemodialysis.

In January of 2019 she contracted the flu and pneumonia and had to be hospitalized in the ICU for two weeks. She returned to hospital only 2 days after being discharged with a high fever and pneumonia again. On the 25th of January after hemodialysis she was informed that she had a bacteria in her blood and had to be treated right away. During that hospitalization Tishauna had a pseudoaneurysm and was left with a pinched nerve and no feeling in her left leg. While in hospital she was still receiving hemodialysis and each time she would return from treatment she would feel sick and unwell.

On the morning of May 2nd she received hemodialysis and after treatment she returned to her hospital room. At 4:00pm the hospital staff handed out the meal trays and when they returned back at 4:20pm to check on her Tishauna was found unresponsive and with no pulse.

On the evening of Thursday May 2nd 2019 after 15 years of fighting Tishauna Makeeda Kharmisha Thompson Robertson passed away.

The funds raised will go toward funeral expenses as well as finding a new home for her family. In April 2019 Tishauna’s family home was found to have asbestos after a neighbour’s house caught on fire. That home is now uninhabitable leaving her mother Tracey with no place to live. Her mother is currently living in hotels while trying to mourn the passing of her daughter. Every donation no matter how big or small will make this tremendously difficult time more bearable and help her family cope with this very great loss.
