<div>On July 31, 2023 I took my oldest son, Miles, to soccer practice. As we were walking up the hill to the turf I got a call from his doctor with the news that the mass I had watched grow on his neck for the past 10 months was, indeed, cancer. After multiple biopsies, scans, tests, and dr appointments our worst fears were confirmed and we started on a heartbreaking cancer journey with our then 7 year old son. Thankfully, as a direct result of recent research and excellent medical care, he is now 18 months in remission.

<div>September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. In honor of my Miles, I am raising money to bring awareness to Childhood cancers and support much needed research to help save the lives of the precious children who are forced to endure this terrible disease.

<div>When the 2025 federal budget passed it drastically cut funding to support pediatric cancer patients and research. These cuts are devastating. For families facing a diagnosis, they mean access to less toxic and more effective therapies are threatened, including combination therapies for children who have relapsed, opportunities for low-income families on Medicaid to access life-saving therapy across state lines, and incentives for pediatric cancer drug development. They mean fewer breakthroughs, slower progress, and more uncertainty in a fight where every day matters.
