Move my Mom

My mom has a full history of illness, most of which she has kept hidden for much of her life, mainly because of her strong faith in the healing powers of Jesus. After being diagnosed with Lupus at an early age, she lost her right kidney at age 32 and has since undergone numerous treatments for other problems that this deadly disease provokes. It’s been a struggle for our family, watching her go thru the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual anxiety. Many people do not know these things, because she is usually the one doing all the praying, without asking for many in return.

As terrible as all of the above sounds, the heartbreaking news came on New Years Day when we received a call that the ceiling in my mother’s bathroom had fallen completely out, and her tiny, 1 bedroom apartment was completely flooded. Thankfully, she had stayed with a family friend the night before so she could have the help to cook up a small, traditional NYD meal for me and my kids. So she was not physically harmed. But she lost many possessions, even tho the water was only a few inches high. And many of those were extremely sentimental. Having everything that was sitting in her floor 3-4 inches deep in water has been very hard for her to deal with, and it could be weeks before she will be able to go back to her home.
So in the meantime, she is back and forth between a family friend’s house and mine. This wouldn’t be easy for anyone, but given her medical condition, it is especially hard on her. She’s been on disability for years, which barely pays what few bills she has. Any money donated will go toward purchasing new items to replace what was lost, and also to possibly move her into a different area. She also desperately needs your prayers and lots of encouragement.
