Charlie's Surgery
I have a dog, he's almost 8-years-old, a Boxer. He's such a good boy, and I love him so much. He has been my best friend through some of my darkest times, he's stuck through everything with me. Unconditionally. Like a good boy is supposed to. Anyone who's ever had a dog knows what I mean; the non-stop excitement to see you, the love and affection. All of it in spite of our personal issues.
Charlie never cared if I was depressed, or angry, if I was excited; Charlie has always just cared about me. From when he was a puppy (Look at that little lug) until now. He's stuck with me, even if I ignored him, even when I put off talking him for a walk. I've done the best I can for him, but what can we really do compared to the unconditional love they show us?
Long story short he's developed a perineal hernia, and he will need surgery to correct it. This condition is degenerative, and I can't afford the surgery outright. It will end up costing somewhere in the neighborhood of 6,000 dollars. Somewhere between 3,156 and 3,378 for the first side, and around 2,500 (Estimate) for the other side.
Currently I'm checking with other vets to find a more affordable place to have the surgery performed. I will update the campaign when I find one that will do it for less (If I can).
Obviously, with a condition like this, the sooner the better. So the sooner I can raise something, the better. I could get him in for surgery as soon as this coming Monday (12/4/17), but it can be delayed somewhat. For that I will need to raise something though.
I don't know how this will go, or if I will raise the full amount or anything. Part of me hopes against hope that I will, but I will take whatever I can get. I know this time of year everyone is strapped, believe me, I know it all too well.
Any amount will help me to see what else I will need to do to save my best friend. I appreciate whatever I recieve, so much more than any of you could ever know. I thank you in advance, concerned citizens of the internet.
