Lucy's cataract surgery

Donation protected
Our story: Lucy has developed cataracts, and needs urgent surgery.
These cataracts have just appeared, we have learned they do sometimes occur in kangaroo's, and advance rapidly. The veterinary opthalmologist has advised that the earlier that surgery is performed the better the outcome. Also she is already bumping into things when hopping so we would love to get this resolved urgently. The surgeon has kindly offered a 'wildlife rate' of $2000- for the surgery.

Lucy is an 11 month old Western grey kangaroo joey, and was orphaned when her mother was hit by a car when she was around 5 months old, and 1.3kg!  We are wildlife rehabilitators and she was bought to us, we have raised her since then, bottle feeding 4 times per day...
Lucy is a sweet natured joey, everyone who meets her falls in love.  We took in another orphaned joey, Freya, to be raised together, they have a great bond.  Our aim is to raise them together then do a gradual release into the wild to join the local mob, which Lucy's mother was from.
How you can help: We will be so grateful for any donations to help us fund this surgery for Lucy asap so she can continue to develop and move towards release and living a full life.

Just to note, if any excess funds are recieved, we will ensure they go to other local joeys who may also require treatment.
