Alex and I rescued Pixel when she was 2 months old. Weighing in at 6lbs, our sweet Boxer/Hound/Pitt mix instantly became a part of our family!
Now 3.5 years later, she is 55lbs and full of spunk and energy!
Last year, during one of her runs, she came back to the house limping. We thought it was nothing, but it turns out that because of a genetic malformation in the bones of her legs, she ended up rupturing both of her ACL's and needs her first knee surgery in June and her second knee surgery in September. We have tried selling things at 2 separate garage sales, but we are still coming up short and could use more help!
Estimated costs for both surgeries include:
Pre-op consult/X-Rays/blood work: $1,228
Anesthesia and fluids: $1,288
Surgery on 2 knees: $3,000
Post-op Antibiotics and Pain Meds: $425
Post-op X-Rays $475Total estimated cost: $6,416
Yowza! Before you ask, yes, I've gotten quotes from other facilities and this is the standard. I love the surgeon that we have decided to go with at Points East in Wilson... She is smart, caring, fabulous, and answers my phone calls. As a family, we have decided to go through with the surgery, as we believe that she has a lot of years of spunk left in her, and we want her to live pain free.
So we are reaching out to you for help! Please help us get to our goal... we have a long road ahead of us with 12 weeks of intense rehab after each surgery. We don't want to have to take out a loan if we can help it! Thank you so much in advance for all of your contributions!
