Pivoting Poetry for Trans Lifeline Microgrants

Tax deductible
Hello, everyone!

My name is Sara Paye (she/they) I turn 31 on February 8th, 2021. Because I am "coming home" to myself as a nonbinary person,  I am learning more about gender identity and how to support all who are coming home to themselves in a similar way.

To come home to oneself is to live authentically in spirit and expression and envision a world where all are empowered and validated.

For my birthday this year, I want to raise money to benefit Trans Lifeline Microgrants. Trans Lifeline Microgrants is a program of Trans Lifeline. This national trans-led organization gives money to and advocates on behalf of trans folks attempting to navigate legal and bureaucratic systems. By listening to and trusting trans people, we allow them to self-determine their path to care.

75% of name change Microgrants go to trans people of color to dismantle barriers caused by white supremacy. Learn more about our Equity Policy. Microgrants provide trans and nonbinary people with low-barrier funds and support to correct names and gender markers to identify legal documents and support our trans siblings behind bars. Putting money directly into trans people’s hands is central to economic and racial justice. Redistributing funds draws inspiration from mutual aid principles: our support of one another is a political act.
