The great Pippi Strongblocking of Dead Girl Derby's Shotgun Sheilas is well on her way to defeating breast cancer. The fight isn't over quite yet, though; as of the first of October, she still has 11 post-op chemotherapy treatments left to endure. KC Derby Digest is teaming up with the entire Kansas City roller derby community -- and you! -- to help Pippi and her family face down the enormous expense involved with her treatment and eventual recovery.
If $2,000 seems like a lofty goal, that's because it is. But you know what? Go big or go home. That's what Pippi does, that's the example she sets, and we owe her nothing less.
But don't kid yourself -- donations of ALL sizes matter. Everything counts. Big steps or small, we won't stop until Pippi is once again skating her heart out on the flat track.
