Piper's heartworm treatment

Donation protected
Hi everyone, I recently adopted Piper from Louisiana. He had to have surgeries on both eyes because his eyelashes grew inwards (Entropion).
He also had a double ear infection and was neutered all in the past 3 months. The Rescue Rehome Repeat group and his amazing foster mom, Tina Carlton treated him like a king.

He had a round of the slow kill heartworm treatment but it didn't fully cure him of it. Over time, heartworms make their way to the chambers of the heart and the lungs and cause respiratory and heart issues long term. This is why the slow kill is not fully effective. It might work and kill it over time, but while it is still in the system, it can cause further lung and heart damage.

I got opinions from different vets and they both recommended the fast kill method which is more costly and also will require less intense exercise or activities for 2-3 months. I will have to hide the toys and prevent him from horsing around with Tucker for a while.

The first step is getting x-rays in the next week to determine the damage heartworms have done to the lungs. As soon as we start treatment in the next week, it will greatly improve his chances of a long and healthy life.

I appreciate any kind of donations and you are more than welcome to come visit Piper and give him lots of love and attention!
