Please Help Piper 34

This beautiful little girl, newly christened Piper 34, caused quite a stir across Harris County yesterday.  A kind hearted fire fighter at Houston Fire Station 34 had been feeding the pup that morning, and walked outside just in time to witness a motorist deliberately speed up and hit her with their car as she was crossing Laura Koppe Road.  Running back the way she came, terrified and badly injured, she ducked into a drainage pipe for safety.  The fireman tried to coax her out to no avail.  The SPCA was called for help, but they only managed to scare her deeper into the pipe and after declaring her a “pit bull mix” left the scene.

The fireman called his mother, who is active in dog rescue, in hopes she might suggest a method to persuade the pup to come out, but by then she was in too much pain and too frightened to move.  Hours passed in the hot Texas sun, and on top of everything else, rain became a potential threat.  The fire fighter’s mother, Shawn Sonnier, began networking, calls were made and after a long ordeal Piper 34 was rescued about 7 PM last night.

The next step was getting her to the vet to diagnose and assess her injuries, and sadly she has a badly fractured pelvis and surgery is indicated.  Piper 34, who by the way, we believe is a Lab-Spaniel cross, is a fighter and wants you in her corner.  Yes, we’re asking you to help with the cost of her surgery and vet bills as well as with your prayers, and by sharing this page, too.  They say ‘Living well is the best revenge.”  WE CAN HELP PIPER 34 GET REVENGE!  Thank you and God bless!
