It's been one week since my beautiful 21 year old sister lost her life. It's all still so unreal and truly devastating. Mickayla was so fun, caring, hilarious, kind, loving, big attitude, selfless, generous, the BEST mother to my 4 year old nephew.. I honestly could go on forever about all the amazing things about her. I have a lifetime of memories flooding in and each day without her now seems to get a little darker. With all that said.. Mickayla was struggling with mental illness and depression. Not just for a little while but for a lifetime. I can honestly say growing up with her was like being on a roller coaster ride.. a roller coaster I would have rather never gotten off. She definitely had her ups & downs, high & lows, good moments & bad days.

What I'd like is for people to start talking. Start talking about mental illness. Start talking about depression. Start talking about suicide. Start talking so we can bring awareness to this horrible, horrible disease.. Not only do we need to talk about it, but we need to scream and shout about it, cry and complain about it because there is F**K ALL funding to provide adequate mental health care to people who are suffering and the negative stigma around suicide is preventing people from speaking out. We may not be able to change the system, but we can definitely bring more and more awareness that depression is real and it's a monster. So PLEASE read a little more about it, talk about it, speak up if you're struggling or you know someone struggling. Most importantly, take it seriously and do something about it.

Every donation made will be given to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) of Ontario.
CMHA is a non-profit, charitable organization committed to making mental health possible for all.
"Your gift will help CMHA Ontario assist people with mental illness, including their families and caregivers, to access information and support as soon as they need it. Charitable donations, sponsorships, and special funding partnerships help us meet the demand for services not funded by the government.."
All proof will be posted on my social media pages when donation has been made.
