A little bit about us
Michele and Yammel are both international renown circus artists, unique in their disciplines and who both rose from challenging backgrounds to unlikely achievements.

As the Corona crisis reached Europe Yammel was stranded here in Germany and we both lost all of our immediate and future work.
We stuck together and used our creativity to develop a roving  performance with freshly baked cookies as our merch.

The Concept
Our concept was inspired by street culture from Mexico City, Baltimore and Atlanta in the 90's, We wanted to celebrate aspects of our culture that are often dismissed and share the joy and resourcefulness that we know from our homes. We wanted to keep a dialogue open to incorporate aspects of relevant cultural issues, carrying signs with us promoting inclusivity and solidarity in our sweet cookie land.

We were beyond amazed and grateful to see the happiness and joy that we shared  with  everyone when we took our concept out in the streets of Berlin.  It was very meaningful to see how we could transform the anxious and lonely post lockdown energy of the streets and safely bring joy to people.

Seeing the incredible response motivated us to take our project to the next level. We are creating an outdoor pop-up street show as well as a 1 hour show suitable for arts festivals and theaters.

The mission
We feel the need and responsibility as female performers of color to bring the message of inclusivity and empowerment not only in our industry but the world itself.  We believe in the importance of representation and the importance in being able to tell our own stories. We hope reach diverse audiences to inspire and empower others to share their voices.

We would like to use our show as a platform to highlight amazing artists that are often neglected based on race, queer and gender non conformity as well as collaborating with sex workers, who are involved in the arts but also often stigmatized.

We are a completely self funded project which has been incredibly challenging as we also have face unemployment during this crisis. We were approached by a producer to use our concept for his dinner show. He  suddenly cancelled and instead copied and produced our concept fort himself, taking all the credit of our work with out our consent and he did not even offer any financial remuneration for our creative work.

This is especially offensive and hurtful because this project is coming from a place of cultural identification and celebration of our own cultures. We have a responsibility to represent these themes and not let them be turned into gimmicky appropriation.
He is a very wealthy circus producer and has all the means to hire teams of people to produce the concept much more quickly than we can. This is why we need your support.

We would be incredibly grateful if you help us reach our goal to make this project happen!
