<div>Hello dear community, We, Rabbi Yosef Benita - from the Ehvat Yisrael Center and Eran Hazan from the Yedidim USA organization. We are collecting donations for a Jewish man, a father of 3 children who, due to his mental illness, got into trouble with the law.
</div>
<div>We volunteered to help in this case after checking all the facts and we confirm the following:
</div>
<div>The father was previously treated for his mental illness and was in good health for 25 years, raised a family in South Florida and was able to support himself and the family. At a certain point, he did not take his medication and it affected his mental state. He was fired from his job and this triggered his mania depression to very high levels. At that time his condition worsened and at this point, he was arrested for things he did without awareness.

<div>We recently found out that instead of the police sending him to receive mental health care, despite his condition, he was simply taken to a regular prison and awaiting a trial that is due soon.
</div>
<div>We hired an experienced criminal and mental health lawyer from our community to replace the inexperienced defense attorney appointed by the court and we also hired a professional Jewish psychiatrist to evaluate his mental state and prove his insanity and deteriorating mental state.
</div>
<div>The two professionals agreed to provide their services at a low cost and even limited their fees till the end of the trial.
</div>
<div>At the same time, we need to support his family to help with basic bills.
</div>
<div>We need the community's help in this important Pidyon Shvuyim.
</div>
<div>As you probably know, making this mitzvah important even if you have to cancel "Limud Torah"
</div>
<div>The guy is imprisoned in a hostile environment where he does not belong and this may affect his condition even more, he should be transferred immediately to a psychiatric center for treatment and this can only happen with your great help.

<div>שלום קהילה יקרה, כאן הרב יוסף בניטה - ממרכז אהבת ישראל ועירן חזן מארגון ידידים ארה״ב , אנו מגייסים תרומות עבור בחור יהודי, אב ל-3 ילדים אשר עקב מחלת נפשו הסתבך עם החוק.

<div>התנדבנו לעזור במקרה זה לאחר שבדקנו את כל העובדות ואנו מאשרים את הדברים הבאים:

<div>האב טופל בעבר במחלת הנפש שלו והיה בבריאות טובה במשך 25 שנים, הקים משפחה בדרום פלורידה והצליח לפרנס את עצמו ואת המשפחה. בשלב מסויים  הוא לא נטל את התרופות שלו וזה השפיע על מצבו הנפשי. הוא פוטר מהעבודה וזה עורר את המאניה דיפרסיה שלו לרמות גבוהות מאוד. באותו זמן מצבו החמיר ובשלב זה, הוא נעצר על דברים שעשה בחוסר מודעות.

<div>לאחרונה גילינו שבמקום שהמשטרה תשלח אותו לקבל טיפול  נפשי חרף מצבו הוא פשוט נלקח לכלא רגיל. 
</div>

<div>כשגילינו את כל הנ״ל שכרנו עורך דין מנוסה בתחום הפלילי והנפשי מהקהילה שלנו שתחליף את הסניגורית חסרת הנסיון שבית המשפט מינה לו ובנוסף שכרנו פסיכיאטרית יהודיה מקצועית בכדי להעריך את מצבו הנפשי ולהוכיח את אי שפיותו ומצבו הנפשי המתדרדר בתקופה האחרונה לבית המשפט.

<div>שני אנשי המקצוע הסכימו לתת את שירותם בשכר טרחה נמוך ואף הגבילו את גובה שכרם עד תום ההליכים.

<div>יחד עם זאת, אנחנו צריכים לתמוך במשפחתו כדי לעזור עם חשבונות בסיסיים.
</div>

<div>הבחור כלוא בסביבה עויינת אליה הוא לא שייך ולא יכול להסתגל מנטלית וזה עלול להשפיע על מצבו עוד יותר, יש להעביר אותו מיד למרכז פסיכיאטרי לטיפול הולם ולהחזירו לשפיות ולחיק משפחתו וזה יכול לקרות רק בזכותכם.
