Picture Book Project: "The Princess and the Moon"

Hello, friends and strangers! I’m Danielle E. Shipley, author of novels and short stories, of fairy tales retold and legends reimagined, and now – for the first time – of a children’s picture book: “The Princess and the Moon”.

I am excited beyond words to reintroduce this beloved story to the world in such a special format, but I could really use your help to make it happen!
Each of the book’s beautiful illustrations will cost up to $200 to commission, plus the cost of materials, sketching and storyboarding hours, and an estimated $25-ish per book to print. All told, I’ll probably end up spending a minimum of $3.5 thousand to make this dream a reality – which, for your standard self-published author working a day job to pay the bills, is a little bit /a lot/.
With that being said, every dollar donated by someone who believes in the worth of this project will not only be deeply appreciated, it will also come with rewards!
- Donors of any amount will receive a special thank-you illustration by Hannah Vale.
- Donors of $10 or more will receive one (1) copy of the finished picture book, to have and to hold, to read and to cherish.
- Donors of $30 or more will receive a copy of the book /autographed/ by yours truly.
- Donors of $50 or more will receive book + autograph + a limited edition “The Princess and the Moon” promotional bookmark.
- Donors of $100 or more will receive book + autograph + special thank-you illustration + an “I See You” sticker from my Society6 shop (because see you, I do!).
