<div>Pickens County has no dedicated animal shelter — meaning countless pets and stray animals go without care, food, or safe homes. I’m Kari Rodgers, and I’ve started <strong>Pickens Paws and Purrs</strong>, a volunteer-driven community project to change that.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>In less than 48 hours of sharing the idea, our community has shown overwhelming support — volunteers, fosters, and even local businesses offering services and discounts have stepped forward! The excitement is real, but we need a small boost to make this official.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We’re raising funds to:

</div>

<div>File nonprofit paperwork to make Pickens Paws and Purrs an official 501(c)(3) organization

</div>

<div>Open a dedicated bank account for transparency in donations

</div>

<div>Begin planning basic operations for rescues, including veterinary care, supplies, and eventual shelter space

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>Even a small donation will help us cross the first hurdle and move from vision to reality.</strong> Every dollar goes directly to creating a safe haven for animals in Pickens County.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Why this matters:

</div>

<div><strong>Stray and abandoned animals often have no safe place to go.</strong>

</div>

<div>Local families looking to adopt face limited options.

</div>

<div>Your support now helps us start small and grow into a fully operational community rescue that saves lives every day.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We are a community in action — and every gift, big or small, puts us closer to a future where no animal in Pickens County is left behind.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us make this dream a reality.
