Help for Piano Techs in Puerto Rico
Piano Tuners and Technicians throughout Puerto Rico will be without work or income for months as the island recovers from the devistation brought about by Hurricane Maria. The typical Piano Technician is self employed, relies on income tuning pianos in clients homes and schools. With the entire island now inaccessable and many homes totaly destroyed, the technicians and their families will be facing even more burdens and lack of resources.
For most of these independent business people, their livelyhood and passions to keep the spirit of the island alive and thriving through music has been crippled. Most have not only lost their personal home but possibly their entire shop filled with equipment, piano inventory, repairs in transition and now future work for months and months.
In a tribute to the number of keys on a piano, Our goal is $88,000. This fundraiser will help provide financial help and support technicians who keep the music playing in places such as The Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts Center, or Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in Spanish, a multi-use performance centre located Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico to recapture the joys of the people, through the arts.
100% of the Funds raised will go directly to the principal technicians on th e island for distribution to other thechnicians throughout Puerto Rico.
Consider each key, consider your emotions everytime you hear music, consider donating.
Thank you, in advance, for your support
