Phyllis's Cancer Battle fund

This is a fund for my lifelong friend Phyllis. She is a beautiful woman who raised 2 children by herself and has 5 grandchildren. Several years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and after treatment she and the doctors believed it to be completely gone. Two years ago in April of 2016, the cancer came back. By the time the doctors discovered it, the cancer had reached stage IV and had metastasized to her bones. She has been fighting and fighting this cancer. Phyllis lives in South Texas on the border of Mexico and has to travel to M.D. Anderson in Houston for treatment. Needless to say this has put tremendous financial strain on her.
Phyllis has continued to work full time. She is a special ed teacher. Her faith in God has given her strength to continue up until this point. For financial reasons, she has been unable to quit her job to focus on the treatment she needs.
This spring the cancer indicators in her blood work started going up significantly. In the last month or so, she started having severe nausea and vomiting and has lost a lot of weight and can hardly keep anything down.
The doctors discovered this week that it had spread to her digestive system with a malignant tumor on her stomach that is blocking all nutrition. She has recently been hospitalized to help stabilize her.
With this recent news, it is impossible for her to go back to work. Her goal was to work another year, so she could pay off all her debts.
Even though the diagnosis is grave, we can't count Phyllis out. She is a fighter and can still beat this! I have never seen anyone fight this disease like she has. (The fact that she has continued to work shows this.) Phyllis has definitely not thrown in the towel yet!
Please consider helping this mother and grandmother. ANY amount of donation will be very helpful! The small donations can add up quickly. $50,000 would allow her to be completely debt free but most importantly it will take the strain off of her worrying about finances and feeling like she has to go back to work.
