Phydeaux Needs Surgery

Donation protected

3/14: It's all fun and games until someone ends up in a cone. :(  Feeling a little under the weather today, but will be better soon!

SURGERY IS TUESDAY, MARCH 13.  All went well; Phydeaux is spending the night at the vet and coming home Wednesday, March 14.

THANK YOU ALL, SO MUCH, FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!! PHYDEAUX WILL HAVE HIS SURGERY AND WE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU! We will post updates after surgery. Thanks again to everyone who made this possible!!!

Since 2007, K9BFF's goal is to rescue at-risk dogs and place them in stable, loving, and permanent homes. Through no fault of their own, many dogs find themselves in shelters or with guardians who can no longer care for them. We believe each dog is special and deserves to be cherished and protected. We are dedicated to helping find these loyal companions a permanent home and a second chance at life.

Phydeaux, like so many others at the shelter, was scared and trying to fend for himself on the streets. But unlike the others, he was doing it with a dislocated hip, and fractured and dislocated ribs; his hair so filthy and matted that he could barely see or move.

The fear and excruciating pain he must have been in is unimaginable. In spite of that, he never showed even one smidgen of aggression or bad temper. When we saw how sweet and gentle he was, we knew we had to help him.

The vet said it looks like he was kicked on his left side, or possibly fell onto something from a high place. He can walk, but barely has use of his left leg. He is a young pup who longs to run and play, but he needs surgery.

Phydeaux is now on round-the-clock pain meds, and the vet said that without surgery his condition would continue to deteriorate.

We decided to take a giant leap of faith (that’s where you come in!)... and schedule his surgery. In order to make this happen, we desperately need your help!!!

We hope that you will find it in your heart to help Phydeaux’s dream of running and jumping and playing come true. Whatever you can share will help and will be greatly appreciated, be it $5, $10, $50, or $500 for Phydeaux. K9BFF is a 501c3 nonprofit charity operated entirely by volunteers, so 100% of your tax-deductible donation will go toward Phydeaux’s vet expenses.

NOTE: Some people have questioned our $2,500 goal, so I wanted to explain in more detail what Phydeaux needs as a result of the abuse he suffered. The $2,500 is not just for the hip surgery alone. We have already incurred over $400 in costs for comprehensive x-rays and review by a radiologist and orthopedic surgeon. In addition to the hip surgery, Phydeaux needs dental work -- not only was he kicked in the side, he was also kicked in the face and he has a broken canine tooth (the extraction of which will add about $190 to the price of the dental). The vet said the dental work will have to be done on a separate day because of the risk of infection (so this will be a 2nd surgery with all the associated costs). Phydeaux will need several medications both before and after his surgery, as well as several months of rehabilitation. I hope this answers any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly at [email redacted] if you have any other questions.

Imagine how great Phydeaux will feel after his surgery! And imagine how great you will feel knowing you helped give him the divine gift of life without pain. Thank you so much from K9BFF, and Phydeaux says “hip hip hooray!” (he’s very punny) :)
