Phuong's Dental Treatment for Christmas

During this Christmas season, our family is raising money for Phuong, our disabled neighbor and friend, who has suffered for many years with dental issues and desperately needs dental work done. Phuong is a Vietnamese man, now in his mid-30s, who was hit by a car when he was a little boy. Because of this, he is not able to work, has some learning disabilities, and is mildly autistic. Despite these challenges, Phuong is always looking for others who are in need of prayers as he walks around Huntsville. Our family has been blessed as his friends for 8 years.
Here is how we know Phuong and some of his story. About eight years ago, Phuong's beloved brother took him to the dentist. Unfortunately, his brother passed away suddenly before any treatment was performed. To not add to everyone's stress, Phuong decided not to bring up anything about his teeth. Soon after this, his mom, who cared for him and lived with him, also passed away after living for 10 years in a wheelchair. Phuong felt lost after that, and there was great tension in the family after his mom's passing. Phuong's sister became his guardian, but she claims that Phuong is "mental" and did not help him grieve his mother's passing and his sudden loss of care. Meanwhile, his stepfather also left to return to Vietnam. Phuong became very distressed at not knowing how his life would go after that, and did not want to ask his sister for help, so he decided to let his dental health go.
We met Phuong around the time that his brother passed away, and didn't realize he had any issues. These last few years have been very hard for him with his teeth constantly in pain, and eating is becoming nearly impossible. After his initial evaluation with a local dentist, it turns out he has a genetic condition that has caused severe bone loss beneath his teeth. The plan of treatment is to remove all of his teeth, let all the infection heal, and customize dentures.
We're asking everyone who feels called to contribute to please donate and help our brother in Christ. We Kellers are so grateful for all of you who have reached out to Phuong with so much love since August, giving him rides and showing that you care. You've really made a difference in his life.
The wonderful staff at our local dentist is giving Phuong a 15% discount on all the dental work, plus waiving some of the fees. We're so thankful for their help! Please help us reach our goal so we can start on his treatment, and give him the best Christmas ever!
