When asylum seekers eventually reach the UK they may have been travelling for several years to escape from harm. Many of them will have lost touch with loved ones and friends along the way and will be completely isolated away from support groups and unable to access vital services such as healthcare and schooling for children.
Smartphones have become such a normal part of our lives that we don’t even think about how important they are for our wellbeing.
This project aims to give a helping hand to those arriving in the UK to seek asylum by recycling unwanted smartphones and getting them in the hands of those that need them.
