PhillyUnknownProject Van & Supplies
The PhillyUnknown Project is a 501c3 non-profit organization that I founded in order to bring awareness and cohesion to out community by assisting those in need and despair. Set up and run by community members in order to work with the homeless and addicts, it focuses on connecting with those on the streets and the opioid encampments and providing the basic supplies and necessities to make their lives a little better.
Spreading kindness in the form of Compassion Bags, which consist of various items ranging from sandwiches to water to snacks to hygiene supplies to socks to other necessities, and personal one-on-one outreach the mission of the project is able to be carried out due to the donations from people in Philly and across the country.
Since its inception two years ago the project has distributed thousands and thousands of Compassion Bags, worked closely with many agencies to assist with the looming issues of homelessness, has been a voice for those forgotten and ignored, and has been working two major initiatives called #CoverUpPhilly and #PhillyOnItsFeet. These initiatives have been able to provide warm blankets and winter outerwear to those on the streets, as well as lightly worn to new footwear.
Knowing all too well the issues on the streets, I have a focus on being a voice for the underdog and bring awareness to the issues they are facing on the streets and have had been fortunate enough to have a group of committed citizens who want to be a part of something bigger and positive.
CURRENTLY, we are reaching out to our supporters and those who believe in the mission we carry out asking for your assistance with raising the funds we need to get a used van or mini-van or SUV of some sort for the project in order to transport the supplies to those in need on the streets.
