Philly Rallies for Bridget Foy's

In the early morning hours of October 25th, a devastating fire broke out at Philadelphia's beloved Bridget Foy's on the 200 block of South Street. While there are many unknowns surrounding the incident last night, there are countless knowns to the many regulars and Queen Village neighbors.
We know that Bridget Foy's has been a mainstay in the city of Philadelphia since the 1970's and though the name has changed, the family has always been a constant warm welcome to those in the neighborhood and those just passing by. We know that in hurricanes, Bridget Foy's has kept the lights on offering a safe refuge. We know that they've remained open for Thanksgiving and Christmas, embracing the #openinphl hashtag and becoming many Philadelphian's "home for the holidays".
My name is Becca Scuderi, a 10 year resident of Philadelphia having spent 4 of those as a resident of the 6xx block of South Street - I'm sure it goes without saying, but it's tough to think about what South Street would look like without this anchor. For me personally, the news hit hard...Bridget Foy's is where I met my fiance, it's where we've thrown milestone birthday parties, it's where my friends welcomed me with mimosas along the route of the Susan G. Komen 3-day. No doubt you all have incredible memories here as well and I invite you to share your stories in the comments!
This GoFundMe campaign has been set up so that Bridget Foy will be the direct beneficiary of all funds raised by this community effort. At her (and her family's discretion) the money raised will go toward the rebuild of the restaurant and help to provide financial support to their 40+ displaced employees.
It's hard to imagine a South Street without Bridget Foy's. So let's rally together to provide whatever support we can to reciprocate the love that they've given to all of us over the last almost 4 decades.
