Phillip Johnson & Fam Medical Fund

PHILLIP'S STORY:
Less than a year ago, Phillip discovered that his kidneys were operating at 10% of their normal functions and causing disharmony for his livelihood and his body.  After months of searching for donors, Phillip matched with his father, Bob Johnson.  And as any generous and loving father would do, Bob agreed to gift Phillip a precious piece of himself.

As many of you know, Phillip recently underwent a kidney transplant operation (1/23/2018) after discovering that these vital organs were failing.  We're happy to report that the surgery was a SUCCESS!!  Phillip's and his father's kidneys started working immediately and father and son are well on their way to recovery.

WHY ARE WE REACHING OUT AND WHERE WILL THE FUNDS GO?
Phillip and his wife, Karen, have been selflessly devoted to the wellbeing of their children and their household even beyond the apparent needs of the operation and recovery. Phillip's father and mother have temporarily relocated to the D.C. area and singlemindedly investing their time and energy to the same. The funds will go directly to the medical care of Phillip and his father, to the wellbeing of Phillip and Karen's children and to supplant the loss in wages brought upon by their leaves-of-absence from work.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Phillip’s greatest asset is that of the company that he keeps: his friends and family.   Already we’ve seen many offers of financial aid and support begging to be delivered to Phil and his family.  And so we're asking that you use this "gofundme" page to contribute.

1. Who am I?
My name is Jae Lee, a personal friend of Phillip and his family for the past 20 years

2. Where am I from?
I am from Atlanta, GA and currently reside within the city with my wife and dog

3. My relationship to the parties I am raising funds for:
I've known Phillip Johnson since middle school (around 1997-1998) and we've been friends ever since.  After college, he moved to the DC metro area for his career while I stayed in Atlanta.  We were each in the other's wedding party and have been best friends for a long time

4. How will the funds be used?
As stated in the above paragraphs, the funds will be used to pay for any medical bills for Phillip and his father as well as to supplant any loss in wages due to their absences from their work

5. How do I intend to ensure that Phillip receives the money?
The funds are linked to my personal checking account and will be disbursed as a wire transfer or "Venmo" once the funds hit my account.  We are also in the process of linking this campaign directly to Phillip's account but we have yet to hear from Go Fund Me--Phillip has sent a note.
