Phillip Maffei’s ❤️ Needs help

Some of you may know Phillip has been in the hospital for over 2 weeks now and a lot of you may not know. He has been suffering from spinal injuries for many years now.  This time he’s in the hospital for something that was not expected - his heart ❤️.  When he was first admitted to the hospital they discovered his heart was only functioning at 20% and he has a massive hole in his heart.  The cardiologist at Southeast Memorial Hospital was puzzled because Phillip never had any previous problems with his heart. Never diagnosed with high blood pressure-nothing! They wanted to do a routine angiogram which turned into something much worse. One of the main valves to his heart shut completely causing the connecting vessels to all shut as well. Which caused his heart to stop completely. The Cardiologist and his team worked on him for 7 hours. Bringing him to a some what stable condition. His Cardiologist called and made it possible for him to be life flighted to Memorial Hermann Hospital - The Cardio Vascular Heart Failure Unit -,in the Medical Center.  He has undergone 2 surgeries and has been fighting for his life. All the doctors are puzzled on what could have caused this much damage to his heart. They all believe it was viral. Some type of virus got into his blood and went to his heart.  They said there is nothing else that could do this much damage in a short period of time. He is still very sick and the next step is for him to receive a heart pump -  (LVAD) Left Ventricular Assist Device. This is basically considered as open heart surgery. This surgery and the device itself is very very expensive. Just a few days ago - the hospital stated that a deposit was needed to go towards the remaining balance of the surgery that was not covered by insurance which is $700,000.00.  In order to even schedule this surgery they require a deposit. If you know Phillip - you know he would never ask for help. He’s not!!! His family is asking for help for Phillip. Every little bit counts.  His body can’t wait much longer.
