Phil had a heart attack on 5/24/19. He had to wait one week, sitting in local hospital, in order to be transferred to Jersey Shore Hospital for heart catherization procedure.
At 10 PM on Thursday, he had procedure. He has 4 blockages. One blockage was 99% . The other 3 are 70% blocked. Phil opted to have stents because recovery time and seriousness of open heart bypass surgery was too great.
Unfortunately hospital only completed the one stent with 99% blockage and opted to do remaining 3 in 2-3 weeks. Phil is currently out of work and will be out much longer than he wanted due to the week waiting for procedure and now having to wait for second procedure. He did not health insurance and is relying on charity care for hospital bills. While he might be obtaining insurance soon, he is paying out of pocket for numerous meds and follow up appts with cardiologist and other doctors. He did file for disability but there will be a delay in payment, prob 4 -5 weeks ( typical timeframes).
Everyone who knows phil, knows he is always very generous and willing to help anyone in need. I'm hoping to raise some money to assist him in paying bills, medication and doctor appointments for the next 4-5 weeks. Any amount of money is a help and will relieve the burden of extra stress placed on phil.
