Phil's 2nd battle, Guillain-barre'

Please meet my husband Phillip Pascale . We met nearly 20 years ago ,and have been inseparable ever since . Phil is an amazing Husband ,Father ,Stepfather,
Grandfather, Brother, Friend, and all around Man. He has always been my ROCK , and has gone above and beyond for his family and I .
Approximately 10 years ago Phil was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre. Guillain-Barre syndrome is a rare disorder in which your body's immune system attacks your nerves. Weakness and tingling in your extremities are usually the first symptoms.Guillain-Barre causes severe paralyzes that starts in your arms and legs and eventually rises all the way up to the neck, which leads to a quadriplegic like state .
Phil became fully paralyzed within just hours after diagnosis . Guillain-Barre is extremely rare , and we didn’t know what to expect . But after just a few months Phil was able to work with Medical professionals ,and fight hard to get back to a nearly normal state of life . He worked over the next two years on his fine motor skills , and the doctors told us they haven’t seen anyone work as hard as Phil and gain as much progress in healing .
Over the next ten years , Phil went on to suffer a heart attack , gain a diagnosis of Congestive heart failure , cellulitis, Type 1 diabetes , and even had to undergo and partial amputation of his right foot . Throughout this time my husband continued to work hard at his career as a Master Mechanic . I’ve never seen anyone fight so hard for there life as I have Phil , all while keeping a smile on his face , and using his dry sarcastic humor to make others laugh .
Unfortunately on February 27th 2018 , Phil was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with Pneumonia. As always Phil fought hard , and was released on March 4th 2018. We were so happy to know we had won another battle against Phil’s decline in health . But God always has different plans and on March 5th , just two days later ,Phil was not feeling quite right . He said “Babe I feel like I did when I had Guillain-Barre , I have a tingling and numbing sensation in my lower legs”. Phil and I knew immediately he was in danger ,and needed to get to the hospital. I didn’t hesitate to get Phil in the car, and rush him to the same hospital that saved him before when he had Guillain-Barre. When we arrived to the hospital Phil told the doctors he knew it was Guillain- Barre again . Unfortunately the doctor in the Emergency Room felt he was actually experiencing an issue related to his diabetes , and started treatment for the wrong condition. Guillain-Barre is very rare , and even more rare to get for a second time . With delay in the correct treatment , later that evening Phil took a turn for the worst, and became completely paralyzed , requiring him to be placed on a ventilator . The hospital has since put him on the most aggressive treatment for Guillain-Barre ( Plasmapheresis) . Currently my husband has gone through four rounds of Plasmapheresis and has yet to show signs of improvement. But Phil is fighting hard for yet another time , and has been using his eyes to communicate with us . The doctors are not able to keep him fully sedated , because they have to frequently check for certain reflexive progress . Therefore Phil is completely aware of everything going on , and all the machines that are helping to keep him going in the fight for his life . We know Phil is a strong fighter ,with a strong will to live . Phil is trying his best to win yet another battle for his life . The doctors are still helping him fight , and remain hopeful this battle has not yet been lost . I ask that you please learn about Phil’s condition, so we can help spread awareness of such a debilitating disease .
Please help us to continue supporting Phil through this battle . I am kindly asking that you please make donations to help Phil and I with medical costs, transportation costs, and the ability to maintain our bills/house payment . We are praying my husband is able to pull through this fight for his life , and would also like to accept any help from plumbers , electricians , and general contractors . We currently live in a two story barn style home , and need help converting the home into a wheelchair ,and permanently disabled accessible home . We will also graciously accept any medical equipment that may help with my husbands paralyses. Some items that would help include : Wheelchair, medical beds for fully paralyzed patients, bathroom equipment that can help to lift and bathe, a chair lift to help him get up the stairs in our home , and other various medical supplies.

My family and I can not express enough gratitude for any donations that will help my husband during this trying time .
