Phil & Laverne Hollis Support

Friends and family of Phil and Laverne Hollis, this page was created for the purpose of assisting them with expenses incurred for Phil's medical treatment. On January 6, 2018, Phil suffered a massive stroke, and was transported to the hospital in Little Rock, AR. The first 24 hours did not look positive, and the doctors didn't give much hope for survival. He had to have an operation to remove part of the skull cap to help release some of the swelling/pressure to his brain. Then, small improvements began to take place. He was on the ventilator for a few days, but then started over-breathing it, and was placed on a CPAP machine to assist with breathing. He has moved his right arm and right leg some, squeezed the medical staff's hands and gave thumbs up on command, he has opened his eyes, at times, for brief moments, and even moved his left shoulder slightly. But, he has not woken up to communicate in other ways, yet.
We believe that these small miracles are a direct result of faith and prayer from family and friends, and the family appreciates them so very much. Many people have visited Phil and Laverne in the hospital over the past several days, and have prayed for and offered support, which has been an ecouragement to them. Laverne has been by his side at the hospital, and continues to stay strong with her unwavering faith in God. But, the expenses continue to arise for medical treatment and living accomodations. If you are able to give to this cause, it would be extremely appreciated. No amount is too small.
