Phil Edwards Medical Expenses

On Monday December 11, 2017 Phil had a Cerebral Hemorrage while playing cards with friends. Thanks to those friends quick actions of getting him medical attention they possibly saved his life.  He is now at ST Mary’s Hospital in ICU. He is in stable condition and sedated due to the pressure on his brain that is causing him to have seizures. He is expected to be sedated for about 10 days  while they try to give his body time to heal itself before last resort of surgery to relieve the pressure.  At this time we don’t know how much damage was done to his brain and what types of effects it will have on his body.  When he is stable and recovers enough he will then be on the long road to recovery.  While we don’t know if it will be in a rehab facility or out-patient.

Phil was the primary caregiver for his mother. We are working on getting her taking care of while Phil recovers. At this time we don’t know if he will ever be at the point where he can take care of her again or if he will need a caregiver himself long term.

Phil has been a lifelong presence at  Lakeside Youth Baseball  where he played as a child and then as an adult he has coached countless kids over the years. While Phil has no kids playing at LYB he always volunteered in some way to help make it better for the kids. No matter the day during Spring baseball season you can find Phil at the ballfield.

The family would like to thank Lakeside Rescue Squad for their swift actions of getting him medical care as quickly as possible as well as the outpouring amount of friends sending well wishes and prayers.

Please continue to pray not only for Phil and his speedy recovery but for the family as they deal with the hard blow and make adjustments.
