Phil Delapena Kidney Transplant
Donation protected
If you know the DeLapena family you know what they have been through. Phil has struggled with his kidney for years. Nicole was able to do dialysis at home for the past 4 years. And he was able to keep a job to support his family.
This donation from the donor list is a blessing and a miracle! After many people trying to donate, and no matches, he can finally live a normal life again!
Covid has also made this difficult because he is considered vulnerable and has almost no immune system. So they have been very careful, and will have to continue to be for the next little while.
A large portion of the surgery is covered by insurance. However Phil will be out of work for at least several months to recover. And traveling to Spokane weekly for doctor visits. And all the expenses that come from traveling. He will also be on costly anti-rejection medication for the rest of his life.
Their family had a nightmare last fall when their youngest daughter Jaycee contracted pneumonia and was in the Spokane Children’s ICU. There were a lot of medical expenses during that time as well. We did fundraisers, and received so much help from the community it was so inspiring!
We know this is a hard time to ask for money. Everyone is struggling. Please don’t feel any obligation. Even just a $10 for a meal would be greatly appreciated. They didn’t even want to do this page, I forced them to! Thank you for even considering it. We send blessings and love to everyone struggling at this time. ❤️
