We are Phenomenal Womxn! We aren’t just tooting our own horn-- that is the name of our non-profit organization. And the “x” in “Womxn” isn’t a typo; it’s a spelling change meant to include all female-identifying people in our mission. Together, we aim to amplify womxn’s voices and help young womxn find that voice. Here are some of our upcoming plans:
August 8, 2020 - We 're hosting a virtual Phenomenal Womxn Festival ! 50% of all proceeds will be donated to My Sister’s Place, a domestic violence shelter committed to empowering survivors and their children.
Fall 2020- Spring 2021 - We will present a series of concerts and artistic showcases that raise funds for womxn’s organizations and for ourselves. Funds raised for Phenomenal Womxn will go toward:
Summer 2021 - We will host an arts-based summer camp for middle school-aged girls. The camp will focus on themes of femininity and female empowerment, while attendees learn to express themselves through the creative arts.
Beyond this point, we hope to add one additional grade level to our summer camp each year so that we can reach young womxn of all ages. We also hope to introduce arts-based courses throughout the school year that support girls in creative expression, pro-social interaction, and self confidence.
