I’ve just moved into an apartment in Chicago with my two dogs after months of fighting to get back on my feet. It’s a huge step forward, but I’m starting completely from scratch.

Right now I’m sleeping on the floor, surrounded by boxes, with no furniture, no cushion for rent, and bills already stacking up. My dogs and I finally have a roof over our heads, but we still need help to make this home stable and livable.

What This Fund Will Cover

I’ve set this goal at $5,000 to cover the basics:

Rent cushion & bills → $2,000

Furniture basics (bed, couch, table) → $1,000

Utilities & internet setup → $1,000

Dog care & food → $1,000

This isn’t about extras — it’s about stability. A bed to sleep in, reliable internet so I can work, food for my dogs, and enough of a cushion to stay secure in my home.
