Pharmacy for the Public Good

Wellness Rx LLC Pharmacy in Tannersville, NY is proud to announce the formation of our new nonprofit corporation, Pharmacy for the Public Good! As of November 17th, 2021, Pharmacy for the Public Good will be our company’s guiding business principle of caring for the mountain top community and beyond, under the umbrella of a nonprofit corporation. Wellness Rx will continue to be our operational business name. Nothing will change with how we operate as a pharmacy and wellness center. Our mission, patient assistance fund, and charitable trust will continue to grow and help those in need.

 

We now begin the grassroots fundraising phase to achieve the buyout and conversion from the Limited Liability Company (LLC) to the nonprofit corporation, and to provide the capital for expansion of the model to other communities, to establish a mental health department, expand our public health activities, and expand our training programs for students wishing to enter the healthcare industry.

 

“Our goal is to ensure that we remain sustainable and permanent for each community we serve, including our main hub in Tannersville, and our first expansion coming soon to Phoenicia, NY. Just like a community supports its library, we want our community to see Wellness Rx in the same way and with the same passion. I feel that going nonprofit is our best strategy to achieve this goal and also the best strategy to provide new job opportunities in each community that we expand to. This is an exciting time for us and the corporation we are building. It’s time that community leaders step up their efforts to deal with today’s issues, especially public health, mental health, and training. The biggest reason to do this is for tomorrow's kids, and all of the generations to come. They deserve to have local quality healthcare options available to them within their own communities. Healthcare is a human right!" said Ullmann.

 

Ullmann continued, “We are breaking new ground by creating a brand new nonprofit model of community pharmacy and wellness centers. In fact, we will be the first community pharmacy in America to convert to a nonprofit structure. We have already made some very important connections, and are looking at our next steps. We are working with our nonprofit lawyer to file for 501(c)(3) status. This will likely be a six (6) month process.”
