Feed the People!
A lot of people have been in contact asking if they can help in some way. Some of you have been asking if you can buy *a meal box or an essential food package* and have it delivered to someone else or someone in need; those working in the health services, our elderly neighbours, individuals or families in vulnerable situations or those who may not have a home or someone to care for them.
Due to quite a few of these requests, we’ve decided to do something about it. To start with, we have created a fundraising platform. This platform allows you donate money which in turn will allow us to set up a *no contact delivery service* for these people in our community.
You don’t need to know these people personally - we can take care of that - but if you’re feeling a desperate need to help someone right now and aren’t sure how, we hope this system will allow you to make a difference to someone near you.
*This is a two part system; we need both people who want to donate AND addresses to which to donate to.* If you do know someone personally who is working in the health services, an elderly neighbour or someone/a family you know who are vulnerable, please let us know and we will deliver to them.
Here’s how it works:
*£10 donation = one meal package (includes 1 meal, snack, drink and delivery) or a food essentials/care package from the shop.*
*£50 donation = five meal packages (includes 5 meals, snacks, drinks and delivery), or five food essential/care packages from the shop.*
*£100 = ten meal packages (includes 10 meals, snacks, drinks and delivery’s), or ten food essential/care packages from the shop.*
The money that you donate will help us buy ingredients for these packages and cover delivery and staff costs.
Our aim is to put aside 5 meals or 5 care packages a day x 5 days a week for 4 months. 400 packages so £4000 is our target.
If demand outstrips supply need we will ask other local cafes/shops to help us supply these meals and care packages. We’re all in this together!
