Luka is a street dog who was found in heartbreaking condition. He had been hit by a car and left unable to walk, with painful wounds and infections across his weak body. For two long days, he lay suffering until he was finally discovered by Milena Malesevic, a dedicated rescuer from Sarajevo who has been saving animals for more than 36 years.

Thanks to Milena’s persistence, Luka was taken to veterinary specialists, examined, and operated on. He is now recovering, but his journey is far from over. Luka was truly fortunate to be found by one of the most determined animal advocates in the region—someone who never gives up when there is even a small ray of hope.

To continue his recovery, Luka needs ongoing care and treatment at Milena’s home. The cost of his procedure and surgery alone, in Belgrade is €2,000, and Milena cannot cover this and additional expenses alone.
