<div>My name is Erzsi (pronounced air-zhee), and I am 23 years old. I recently received the life-altering diagnosis of Ewing’s Sarcoma, a very rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. The mass has formed on my sacroiliac joint, with tiny spots appearing on my rib and femur. The treatment protocol is intense, involving 14 cycles of chemotherapy and a month-long proton radiation therapy at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.

<div>I live in Flagstaff, Arizona, and this treatment means frequent travel back and forth to Phoenix, along with long days of appointments, infusions, and recovery.

<div>Since beginning treatment on 9/22/25, my world has changed drastically. I’m an outgoing person, and what I miss most is the simple joy of connecting with people every day—I work as Assistant Store Manager at Warner’s Nursery, helping others care for their plants and their homes, and I’ve always loved solving problems and making people laugh. This change in routine has been incredibly challenging—not only physically, but emotionally. Sitting still for long periods is hard for me, and it can feel lonely, even though I’m so grateful for my parents and my boyfriend, Marcus, by my side. My days are now filled with travel between Flagstaff and Phoenix, hospital appointments, and week-long stays, while managing side effects like fatigue, nausea, and pain.

<div>The cost of traveling to the Mayo Clinic, lodging (oh my goodness, hotels are expensive these days), groceries, gas, and medical expenses is overwhelming. Any contribution will help ensure that I can focus on what matters most: my treatment and recovery. Every dollar counts—and any funds we don’t use will be donated back to the Mayo Clinic to help other patients in need.
