Donation protected
Dylan was struck by a drunk driver while riding his motorcycle on highway 61 on Sunday May 4 around 8pm. He was transported to Region's hospital in St. Paul by ambulance. Dylan suffered multiple serious injuries including a Traumatic Brain Injury, broken femur, broken right wrist and an avulsion to the rt. tibia. Dylan had surgery on Monday the 5th and spent 9 rough days in the hospital. Now Dylan is at home receiving around the clock care. He will be facing unexpected medical costs due to in home therapies, unexpected medical equipment not covered by insurance and increased expenses to maintain the home, and meal delivery costs as well. Dylan is facing a long recovery, but each day is a step in the right direction. Thank you for all the support, Dylan has received from family, friends and the fire department family. It has been heart felt. And Thank You for your support.
I am Dylans father, Mike Mills. I will be receiving your donations made and transferring them do Dylan through a certified check from my bank account to his account. Dylan is facing a long road to being fully recovered. Thanks to all your love and support we hope to get him back on his feet. Doctors are saying possibly 6 months before he can walk normal. Your support and donations are being used for uncovered medical expenses, equipment to help Dylan use his bathroom and get around the house safely. Transportation, meals and some home renovations to allow Dylan to shower. Dylan is 5 weeks into his recovery and is making progress. Dylan was able to transition from using the walker full time to using crutches on occasion. Dylan will be purchasing a new bed so he is able to elevate his leg to help reducing the daily inflammation to his knee, especially after PT. Thank you for all the support you have given, and a special thanks to the brothers and sisters of the St. Paul Fire Department, Local 21, Fire administration and Human Resources.
