Aloha,
We are shipmates of one of the most wonderful and lovable cooks we've ever had, Barbara Terry. She's been a constant and steadfast friend to the crews of the Oceaneering vessels M/V Performer, Patriot and Ocean Alliance for over 25 years. Through those years she's made life a bit more bearable for her shipmates and being away from home with her delicious food and warm smile.
Our dear shipmate retired last year and has just recently been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer. While the treatment at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is being partially covered by Medicare Insurance the hotel stay is not. She'll have to stay near the hospital for a period of 8 weeks to undergo treatment and all the money raised will go toward paying for her stay. Her treatment starts this week and, as you may know, time is a crucial factor.
Barbara has always been a wonderful and generous person and is always first to help those in need. Well, now it's time to be there for her and come to her aid. Together we can alleviate much of the financial burden and grant a bit more peace of mind to her and her family so that they can focus on her well being. That in itself would provide much comfort and support which is so desperately needed while undergoing treatment.
Any help we can provide would be so greatly appreciated by her, her family and friends and go a long way toward her recovery. By contributing we can be the key toward her recovery so that she can spend many more years warming the hearts of her grandchildren, family, friends and shipmates.
