12 yr old Died Tragically in SD Blizzard

Hello, my name is Rose Cordier-Beauvais, I am fundraising for funeral expenses for my grandson who died during the blizzard in South Dakota. The roads are finally open so we are able to plan Honor's funeral for January 4, 2023.

On December 15, 2022, my grandson, Honor Beauvais, 12 years old, died because emergency personnel couldn't reach him in time during the bomb cyclone blizzard in South Dakota. I and my daughter tried for hours to reach the emergency preparedness personnel on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation to get help for Honor. A snowplow eventually was able to make a path for an ambulance. Honor was taken to the Indian Health Service (IHS) a government hospital, three miles away, where he passed away due to his illness. Honor was taken to the emergency room the day before, he was diagnosed with influenza A. But he was sent home, and his condition did not improve.
Honor was a 6th grader at Sapa Un Catholic Academy in St. Francis, SD. Honor was an outgoing and very friendly young man. He loved spending time with his family and playing sports with his many friends. He was looking forward to playing on the Sapa Un basketball team after the holidays. He and his friends enjoyed playing their online games also. Honor's passing is such a shock and tragedy for our family and friends. Honor has five siblings who miss him dearly. Three of his siblings, a big sister, a younger sister and his little five year old brother live with me.
The roads in SD and on the reservation are finally being cleared enough so that we can plan the wake and funeral for our beloved boy, Honor. (His given name is Yuonihan Ihanblè Beauvais. In our Lakota language, Yuonihan means "to Honor" and Ihanblè means "to Dream.") The funeral is scheduled for next week, January 4, 2023. I am asking for help to pay for wake, funeral, food and headstone costs for my grandson. We will be providing meals for all who attend the wake and funeral. It is our Lakota tradition to have a memorial ceremony one year after our loved one's death, at that time we will set the headstone and prepare a feast for everyone in attendance. This is what I plan to do for Honor. Any amount will help and any assistance is very greatly appreciated. God bless everyone who reads this, may God comfort those who are in mourning also.
