Please Help Bam Bam

Bamaga is a 6 month old rescue pup from a community in Far North Queensland. From a young age of 5 weeks old he soon found a place in my heart and his new home.

Bam Bam as I like to call him is beautiful kind natured soul who within seconds can melt your heart.

Recently Bam sadly came across a rodent that looked to him as a tasty treat. Little did he know he was about to become victim to deadly rat bait.

Although he was showing no symptoms at the time.. His intoxication soon came to light during a playful act with another young pup when he got bitten on the nose.

What seemed as a minor injury soon became life threatening.

With the blood pouring down the back of his sinuses he found it difficult to breath and after awhile began to vomit up his blood. It was at this point I knew there was something terribly wrong and I wasn’t dealing with just a small cut.

Bam was very lethargic, white and cold. He could barely keep his head up. After assessment the vet recommended that Bam should be taken into intensive care at a specialist.

The specialist explained that Brodifacoum a chemical found in rat bait reduces Vitamin K in the body which leads to decreased blood clotting ability.

If clotting ability is reduced significantly, internal bleeding can also occur.

Bam has now undergone a blood plasma with vitamin K transfusion and now red blood cell.

I’m pouring my heart out to anyone who is in any position to help with Bam’s recovery fees.

Even $1 helps in this difficult time.


So far I have been able to cover $1600 of starting fee of $5000 and because I am a student unfortunately I do not qualify or a veterinary payment plan for this amount of money.
