Keep StarBot Alive!!
TAKE A STAND NOW!!!! READ ON & TAKE SOME ACTION!!!
StarBot is at an important crossroad. Like the engineering
process, it is time for us to reinvent ourselves and phase into the next
generation. For the past 15 years, StarBot has been a place to learn how to
build robots and compete with the best of the best. From fosters lifelong
friendships with kids outside their normal circles to support for their interests
that go beyond the ordinary, StarBot has been a place where students feel like
they are at their second home. Among other things, StarBot hosts the 305
Consortium that affects all kids in South Florida. StarBot has been a big part
of so many people's lives over the years. Thousands of people have been
positively impacted by their association with StarBot. So many great memories!
Right now, StarBot is in a transition phase. We will keep up
with all the super-stars who make StarBot a part of their high school life, and
at the same time we will be working on the new expansion.
This is what we are
planning to do:
1)
Keep StarBot in the same physical location
2)
Offer a 30 class curriculum to students
3)
Turn our space into a DIY center for individuals and families to
work on personal projects
4)
Upgrade our machines (mills, lathes, etc.), add computers with
3D Design software, and increase the work space available for projects
5)
Offer workshops by top professionals in their fields

StarBot needs the support of all the friends we have made over
the past 15 years. In order to facilitate and focus on our transition, we need
to pay fixed expenses (rent, power, etc.) Our goal is to raise $50,000 to keep
StarBot afloat as we make the necessary changes to our programs and facility.
We need YOU to take a stand and drop some dollars and keep
StarBot open this year. Think about how your life was/is impacted by all the
