Peyton is ten years old. Earlier this year his father, Butch, noticed him favoring his right arm and leg. He took him to the primary care doctor and they scheduled an MRI for later in the month. Because his symptoms appeared to be getting worse, his father decided not to wait and took him to Children’s hospital. An MRI was done and the results were that Peyton had Pilocytic Astrocytoma, a form of brain cancer that occurs in children and young adults.
Peyton’s caregivers, Butch and Michelle, are an average couple that work hard and live paycheck to paycheck. Michelle has even taken on a second job to help with the added expenses. They are both missing time at work to make sure Peyton gets his treatments, his physical therapy, his checkups and scans, and numerous doctor visits. In addition, they are trying to help him keep up with school and provide him with some normalcy at home. They have been helped by some friends who finished off a new bedroom for Peyton with his favorite team’s logo, the Kansas City Chiefs.
The purpose of this GoFundMe account is to help them out with the numerous additional medical and other expenses they are incurring, and to help make up for the loss of pay from the time off they must take to support Peyton.
